Strategic Plan

To achieve our mission, the Office of LGBT Life developed a five-year strategic plan, beginning planning in 2008. Incorporating the ideals in both the Emory University and Division of Campus Life strategic plans, our plan focuses on the needs and strengths of LGBTQ students. The process began with a needs assessment from University of Georgia students, looking at office use, event attendance, and student perceptions of the Office. In order to better understand what our students wanted and expected from the Office, we hosted a series of focus groups in the spring of 2009 and, again, in the Fall of 2010. The information gathered was used to build, revise, and maintain our strategic plan, focusing on: Student Development, Education, Communication & Visibility, Resources, and Assessment.
